Your Landscape Matters: Changing the Conservation Paradigm

with Claudia Thompson, Founder, Grow Native Massachusetts

Extinctions of plants and animals and climate change seem like overwhelming problems but each of us can fight these crises right at home, especially by treating our home gardens as habitat to nurture the native living things of our continent.

Claudia Thompson will illustrate how she created a home landscape rich with habitat— supporting wildlife, birds, and pollinators. More than 80 species of birds have visited or nested in her relatively small urban garden.

With this inspirational story as a case study, we will learn tangible steps that all of us can take in our yards to improve the ecological health of our communities. Learn how you can become part of the climate solution — by emphasizing native plants, embracing ecological processes, and making your garden a place full of life.
